Chiefs suit up for new season in style. Travis Kelce, Chris Jones lead the way

Travis Kelce slid into his 13th season with the Kansas City Chiefs in some of the most comfortable-looking shoes we’ve seen him wear with a game-day fit.

They were slippers, weren’t they?

Newly-engaged Kelce and teammate Chris Jones entered Corinthians Arena in São Paulo in the finest fits of the evening Friday.

The Style By Kelce Instagram account described Kelce’s suit by the Brooklyn-based streetwear brand KidSuper. The suit jacket ($525, sold out) and suit pants ($325), dark with white contrast top stitching, were hand-embroidered.

A doodle-like face was stitched on the front left panel of the jacket, like he was wearing his own bodyguard.

His New Entry Oval sunglasses ($480, sold out) and duffel ($6,400) were from his favored brand Bottega Veneta.

And those comfy shoes? The sleek, Italian-made backless mules were from Fear of God ($625, sold out).

Kelce raised a few eyebrows in this suit, but we give it a thumbs-up.

Chris Jones wore a beautiful bespoke suit of emerald green silk by his go-to guy, tailor-to-the-NFL Tom Marchitelli at Gentleman’s Playbook. When Jones got on the plane heading to Brazil holding one of the brand’s suit bags, we knew something great was coming.

“Pound for pound the best suit you’ll see tonight. Stone Cold CEO Chris Jones wearing Emerald silk in Brazil, custom made by yours truly,” Marchitelli wrote on the company’s Instagram.

We don’t have any details about Patrick Mahomes’ suit, only to say that with its roomy, boxy shape the jacket looked comfy as a bathrobe. His go-to Oakleys elevated the look, as they always do. So did the stylish detail of a single-strap crisscrossing the jacket front.

And many kudos to defensive end George Karlaftis for signaling that he will stay true to his quirky self.

He arrived in a colorful silk twill shirt by Casa Blanca, a French luxury brand. The graphic print of the Midnight Acropolis shirt ($1,046) paid “starry homage” to ancient Greece.

“If there was ever a piece that summarises what Casablanca is as a brand, this shirt is it,” the company says on its website.
