For one day, Andy Reid trades Chiefs red for BYU blue at Big 12 Tournament in KC

Andy Reid took a basketball break.

The Chiefs coach watched some Big 12 Tournament action on Thursday, showing up at T-Mobile Center to see his alma mater, Brigham Young University, play Iowa State in the first game of the quarterfinal round.

Reid wore a blue jacket instead of a red one. He was greeted by Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark before taking a seat among the BYU fans seated behind the Cougars’ bench.

Among those at the game with Reid was Brad Gee, the Chiefs’ vice president of football communications and an Iowa State graduate.

The Chiefs, like all NFL teams, are in the midst of free agency/ KC has been busy with such signings as left tackle Jaylon Moore, cornerback Kristian Fulton and running back Elijah Mitchell.

But Thursday was a hoops day, or at least early afternoon, for Reid.
