How to watch KC Chiefs vs. Houston Texans, NFL Week 16: Kickoff time, TV, odds

The quest to capture the AFC’s top seed and all that comes with it in the NFL playoffs continues this weekend for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs play host to the Houston Texans on Saturday. Kansas City improved to an NFL best 13-1 with a 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. But the Buffalo Bills remain close on their heels at 11-3.

What’s more, the Bills (11-3) own the tiebreaker advantage over the Chiefs because of their Week 11 victory against KC in Buffalo.

The Chiefs have the more difficult remaining schedule, with games against the South Division-leading Texans, at the North leading Pittsburgh Steelers and at the Denver Broncos, who would be in the playoffs if the season ended today.

The Bills’ remaining schedule: New England Patriots and New York Jets at home and at the Patriots. If the Bills win them all, the Chiefs need to win two of their remaining three to clinch the top seed.

The prize for the top seed is a first-round bye and home playoff games until the Super Bowl.

The Steelers are alive for the top seed, too, but barely. Not only would they need to win each of their final three games, they would also require the Chiefs to lose all of theirs. And even then, they would still need some help from the Bills, too.

The Texans clinched the South with their 20-12 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Where and when is the Chiefs vs. Texans game?

The Chiefs-Texans game will be played on Saturday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff is noon. It will be the Chiefs’ final home game and they’re bidding for a perfect season at home.

What’s the channel (and radio info) for the Chiefs game?

The game will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock. In Kansas City, it will be televised by KSHB (Channel 41), and in Wichita on KSN (Channel 3).

Additionally, it will be broadcast on radio via KFNZ (96.5 FM) and WDAF (106.5 FM) in the KC area, and KNSS (98.7 FM) in the Wichita area.

What’s the betting line for Chiefs-Texans?

The Chiefs opened as A 4 1/2-point favorite, with the over/under set at 44 1/2. But the line shifted dramatically with the news of Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury. The Texans became a slight favorite. Then Tuesday’s practice report revealed Mahomes as a full participant, and the Chiefs returned to the favorite’s role, by three points.

The Chiefs covered as a 3 1/2-point in their 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns. That ended a seven-game streak of Kansas City not covering and the Chiefs improved to 5-8 against the spread with one push.
