Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo knew what type of plays the Buffalo Bills liked to use in short-yardage situations — but it wasn’t enough to stop them in Sunday’s 30-21 Bills home victory.

In this video, KC Star reporter Jesse Newell and Brett Taveau (author of the Chiefs book “Unpacking Greatness” and a longtime high school offensive coordinator) take a closer look at details from two critical Bills fourth-down plays from QB Josh Allen.

Look closer, and you’ll see the Bills went to the same play two consecutive years against the Chiefs in similar fourth-down situations.

In the end, however, Allen remains difficult to stop even when you fool him, as even tiny execution errors get magnified against a superstar-type player.
