Ava Hunt, daughter of Chiefs CEO, recovers from surgery after “deep wound” on hiking trip
The daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt is currently in recovery from emergency surgery after sustaining a “deep wound” while hiking in the mountains with her family.
Ava Hunt, 18 — one of three children Clark Hunt shares with wife Tavia Hunt — was rushed to the hospital earlier this week after she took a fall during the hiking trip in the mountains. Tavia Hunt wrote on Instagram Tuesday that their daughter “fell down the mountain” and was sent into surgery.
“It’s been a long day,” Tavia Hunt wrote. “Praise God she’s in recovery and already smiling. Please pray for a quick and complete recovery.”
Ava Hunt, an incoming freshman at Southern Methodist University, is set to start on the school’s cheerleading team in the fall. She took to social media Monday to share her own updates on the surgery, writing on Instagram stories that the operation went “very smoothly.”
“I’m feeling great (but I might still be a little drugged up),” Ava Hunt wrote.
Additional posts from both Ava Hunt and Clark Hunt showed the teen watching the Olympics while recovering at home, a bandage on one leg.
The Hunt family has not publicly shared the details of how Ava Hunt was injured and where she was hiking.
Ava Hunt’s last public appearance before the injury came on August 3, when she attended a Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium with older sister Gracie Hunt, according to posts shared on social media.
