Chiefs’ Travis Kelce makes tight end history with 99 overall rating in Madden NFL 25
Records are meant to be broken. Especially your own.
One year after securing the most inductions into EA’s Madden NFL “99 Club” for a tight end in the video game’s history, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has done it again.
A year ago, the record was four. Now it’s five, as Kelce headlines the list of ratings that have been released so far this offseason.
With his overall rating of 99, the two-time defending Super Bowl-champion Chiefs now claim seven players (and counting) with ratings above 90 and six in the top-10 for their respective positions.
Chris Jones leads the way for NFL defensive linemen with a 97 overall rating, while both center Creed Humphrey, 92, and Isaiah Pacheco, 87, rank No. 10 for offensive linemen and running backs, respectively.
Trent McDuffie, a 90 overall, is tied for eighth on the list of top-rated cornerbacks.
The quarterback ratings were released Friday, and Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes — who topped last year’s list and joined Kelce in the 99 Club for the 2024 edition — earned a perfect 99 for the fourth time.
The Chiefs are poised for another successful year. Reaching the biggest game of the season three times in a row will not be an easy feat, but with strong anchors at many positions, Kansas City is certainly equipped to do so.
The Chiefs are currently at training camp, with Kelce and Mahomes leading the charge.
“It’s where it all starts,” Kelce said. “This is where you find out what the team is really made of, how you sharpen the iron, how you practice, your practice habits, the attention to detail.”
Worldwide access for EA’s Madden NFL 25 is set for Friday, Aug. 16. Those who pre-ordered either the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle will have early access Tuesday, Aug. 13.
