Brittany Mahomes will be featured in the 60th anniversary issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, the magazine announced Thursday.

And of course, her swimsuits are Chiefs red.

Mahomes, the co-owner of the Kansas City Current soccer team, is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The announcement comes just three days before the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

SI said Mahomes will be featured as a 2024 Rookie in the May issue. “The entrepreneur and mom of two will be featured alongside our roster of women who empower, inspire and use their platforms to be both seen and heard,” SI wrote.

The magazine called Mahomes “the epitome of a modern-day powerhouse.”

Mahomes posted the news to her Instagram, where congrats poured in from fellow NFL wives, celebrities and even her mother-in-law.

“Holy moly that rocks!!! Go girl,” wrote Randi Mahomes, Patrick’s mother.

The soccer team called her “QUEEN,” adding a crown emoji to its declaration.

“Yes!!!! Get it guuuurl!!!!” wrote “Saturday Night Live” cast member Heidi Gardner, a Kansas City native and avid Chiefs fan.

“Love it!!! She’s not just a ‘football wife.’ She’s a queen making her name known on her own and empowering girls everywhere,” a fan added.

A star-powered Super Bowl

The spectacle of Patrick Mahomes, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and more made the 2024 championship the most-watched Super Bowl ever.

The photo shoot took place “on the white sand beaches” in San Pedro Ambergris Caye, Belize, the magazine said, though it didn’t say when.

Mahomes wears several red swimsuits, including a daring one-piece by Mugler with strategically placed cut-outs. There is nothing “rookie” about the photos, shot by celebrity and fashion photographer Derek Kettela.

She got the full-on Sports Illustrated swimsuit treatment: sexy wind-swept beach hair, provocative poses, hair and makeup team at the ready.

“I never in my wildest dreams thought this would happen,” she told SI. “I’m so thankful and honored and so excited to be here with this team.”

In an accompanying story, the magazine focuses on Mahomes’ accomplishments as a former professional soccer player, fitness trainer and champion of women’s sports, highlighting how the Current’s stadium, set to open in March, is the first built specifically for women’s sports.

“With her athletic background and the launch of Brittany Lynne Fitness in 2019, it makes sense that several SI Swimsuit models and pro sports stars who came before her have served as major inspiration to Mahomes,” the magazine wrote.
