Kansas City Chiefs beat Baltimore Ravens 17-10: Commentary from AFC Championship Game

A star-studded AFC Championship Game did not disappoint. And the Kansas City Chiefs are headed back to the Super Bowl ... for the fourth time with Patrick Mahomes leading the way.

Final score: Chiefs 17, Ravens 10.

The matchup between Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, last year’s MVP and this year’s likely winner (respectively), delivered at times. But really, two of the NFL’s best defenses showed their best at “The Bank” in Baltimore.

Jackson was strip-sacked and threw an interception in the end zone, and L’Jarius Sneed forced a fumble right by the goal line. Consider that Chris Jones earned another cool $1 million by making the Super Bowl, and there were plenty of smiles to go around form the defense.

The Chiefs had their struggles, too. Mahomes and the KC offense didn’t score a point in the second half, but they were ready to play from the jump. Mahomes, playing in his sixth straight AFC Championship Game (and going for his third Super Bowl win) didn’t throw an incomplete pass until the second quarter.

Kansas City never trailed on Championship Sunday.

It was a fun one in Baltimore, and the game got close late. Relive Sunday’s AFC Championship Game with our live updates and commentary as things unfolded...
