Chiefs

These three Kansas City Chiefs were selected to the NFL’s All-Pro first team

Three Chiefs were named first team All-Pro, the NFL’s all-star team selected by the Associated Press, on Friday. And the group from Kansas City includes a first-time selection.

Trent McDuffie, in his second season, made the All-Pro team as a slot cornerback. Defensive tackle Chris Jones made the team for the second straight year.

Also honored was guard Joe Thuney, who twice had made the second team.

McDuffie tied for third in the NFL with five forced fumbles, and he’s second on the Chiefs in passes defended, with seven. He also came up with three sacks this season.

Jones had been second team All-Pro three times before making the first team last season. He repeated the honor on the strength of 10 1/2 sacks, which matches George Karlaftis for the team lead this season.

Thuney had been second-team All-Pro with the Chiefs last season and in 2019 with the Patriots, He’s also made the Pro Bowl roster each of the past two years.

The Chiefs have had at least one player selected as first- or second-team All-Pro team since 2010. The voting is conducted by a panel of media members throughout the country.

The Pro Bowl team, announced earlier this year, included Jones and Thuney, along with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and center Creed Humphrey.
