How to watch Kansas City Chiefs vs. Chargers: Kickoff time, TV, odds in season finale

The Chiefs have clinched the AFC’s No. 3 seed in the playoffs, and the Los Angeles Chargers are operating with an interim head coach and looking ahead to next season.

So, not much drama attached to Sunday’s game in Los Angeles.

But one reason to take note. The Chiefs defeated all three AFC West opponents in their first meeting this season, then dropped games to the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chiefs (10-6) defeated the Chargers 31-17 in Week 7 at Arrowhead and now look to avoid going 3-3 in the division for the first time since 2014. Also, seven regular-season losses would be the most since that 2014 team finished 9-7.

Here’s what to know about the Chiefs-Chargers game on Sunday:

Where and when is the Chiefs vs. Chargers game?

The Chiefs meet the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

The game kicks off at 3:25 p.m. Central.

What’s the channel (and radio info) for the Chiefs game?

You can watch the game on CBS, Channel 5 (KCTV) in Kansas City, Channel 12 in Wichita.

Also, it will be broadcast on radio via WDAF (106.5 FM) in the KC area or streamed on the Chiefs’ mobile app.

In the Week 7 contest, Patrick Mahomes had his best statistical game of the season, passing for 424 yards and four touchdowns. Tight end Travis Kelce also had his best game of the year, with 12 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Will the Chiefs’ starters play Sunday?

The last two times the Chiefs rested key starters in a regular-season finale, the results were mixed. In 2020, with Chad Henne at quarterback, the Chiefs fell at home to the L.A. Chargers 38-21. Three years earlier, Patrick Mahomes, who hadn’t played a snap during his rookie season, led the Chiefs to a victory at the Denver Broncos on the final play.

How will Andy Reid play it this week with the Chiefs locked into the No. 3 seed? Reid announced Wednesday that reserve Blaine Gabbert will start at quarterback and it’s likely more reserves will see action.

What’s the betting line for Chiefs-Chargers?

The Chiefs have opened as a three-point favorite. But now that Gabbert is the starting quarterback and other reserves are likely to play, the line has shifted. The Chargers are now a 3 1/2-point favorite. Until this week, the Chiefs had been favored in every game this season and are 9-7 against the spread.

What’s the Chiefs’ injury report?

Four Chiefs are listed as out because of injuries: Wide receiver Rashee Rice, cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, offensive tackle Donovan Smith and wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
