Chiefs

Let’s talk about the greatest Chiefs play that didn’t count (and the flag) | Podcast

Mistakes doomed the Chiefs in their loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but one — a penalty against wide receiver Kadarius Toney — got more attention than the others.

Offensive offside was the flag against Toney, and it wiped out a touchdown that started as a pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce and finished with Toney racing to the end zone after taking a lateral.

But the go-ahead touchdown with about 90 seconds remaining didn’t count, and the Chiefs couldn’t recover.

Beat writer Jesse Newell, and columnists Sam McDowell and Vahe Gregorian discuss all aspects of the play, the call and reaction on SportsBeat KC, The Star’s sports podcast.
