Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers: Commentary from ‘Sunday Night Football’ game
The Kansas City Chiefs were unable to keep pace in the race for the AFC’s No. 1 seed, falling 27-19 to the Green Bay Packers in a game with, well, quite the finish.
Patrick Mahomes drew a late-hit flag that probably wasn’t ... Marquez Valdes-Scantling was tackled running a deep route and no flag was thrown ... and Travis Kelce may or may not have been pushed on a throw to the end zone.
Also, Rashee Rice fumbled and the Packers returned it for a game-sealing score, only for the play to be overturned with one major consequence: Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was ejected after appearing to throw some kind of a punch.
That was in the last 90 seconds of the game.
The Chiefs, 8-4, now fall behind the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins by a game for the AFC’s best record. And Chiefs coach Andy Reid was unable to pull off a win in a city that has plenty of significance for him.
It was a chaotic, wild, frenetic finish on “Sunday Night Football,” but the Chiefs ultimately fell short. The defense was up and down, and the offense never quite clicked, even after Chris Jones came through with a late sack to give KC one final shot.
