The NFL offseason comes in phases. For the Chiefs, that means plenty of pitching and catching with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the team’s wide receivers, tight ends and running backs.

That’s happening in Texas, Mahomes’ home state. It also means meetings and conditioning for the defense, and the opportunity to hear from head coach Andy Reid and some of his players for the first time in several weeks.

Reid met with reporters Monday to preview the beginning of KC’s offseason activities. On today’s episode of The Star’s SportsBeat KC podcast, he discusses how the Chiefs will operate with new faces at wide receiver, how he spent his time since the Super Bowl victory and of course next week’s NFL Draft. The league’s annual player-selection event will take place April 27-29 at Union Station in Kansas City.

After a break, you’ll hear from linebacker NIck Bolton. The former Mizzou star is coming off his first Super Bowl victory and describes how he’s handled the short offseason.
