The Eagles have employed a former Chiefs-rival coach to help them prepare for the Super Bowl.

According to reports by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who cited unnamed sources, former Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio signed a two-week contract to help Philadelphia prepare for the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

Vangio was the Broncos coach from 2019-2021. His teams went 0-6 against the Chiefs. In those games, the Chiefs averaged 28 points and Mahomes averaged 231 yards passing with seven total touchdowns. In one of those games, in 2019, Mahomes suffered a knee injury and left the game in the first half.

The Chiefs were held to less than 300 yards of total offense in three of those games.

According to Rapaport, Fangio, who will become the Miami Dophins defensive coordinator after the game, helped the Eagles’ offense, not the defense. He’s been involved with self-scouting and projects.
