Why this KC barbecue restaurant is especially meaningful to Eagles coach Nick Sirianni

Of course Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni doesn’t mind talking Kansas City barbecue as he prepares to meet the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

Sirianni was a member of the Chiefs staff, his first NFL experience, from 2009-12, and met his future wife Brett Ashley during that time.

Barbecue became part of his KC experience.

“My parents came to about three or four games a year from Jamestown, New York, and every time they came my dad wanted to go to Jack Stack Barbecue, which happened to be my favorite too.

“It’s the barbecue I get my parents every Christmas.”

When Andy Reid got the Chiefs’ head coaching job after the 2012 season, he fired Sirianni.

If that left a bad taste in Sirianni’s mouth, some Jack Stack might have taken care of it.
