Kansas City Chiefs practice-squad player suspended for six games, league announces
The Chiefs will be missing a versatile player on their practice squad.
The NFL on Monday suspended running back/wide receiver Jerrion Ealy six games for a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, according to a statement from a league spokesperson.
The 5-foot-8, 187-pound Ealy joined the Chiefs during the offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State. The Chiefs waived him as part of their roster cuts to establish the initial 53-player roster, and then brought him back to the practice squad.
Ealy is eligible to return after Week 10’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
To fill Ealy’s spot on the practice squad, the Chiefs signed wide receiver Marcus Kemp, who has been with the Chiefs multiple times since 2017. The 6-foot-4, 208-pound Kemp has appeared in 43 games for the Chiefs over the years, contributing mostly on special teams.
