KC Chiefs will be without kicker Harrison Butker vs. Tampa Bay. Here’s his replacement

The Kansas City Chiefs (and fantasy football players) will be without their starting kicker for a third straight week, as the team ruled out Harrison Butker for Sunday night’s game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Chiefs made the announcement Saturday morning, while also elevating kicker Matthew Wright from their practice squad. Wright joined the Chiefs this week after the team released Matt Ammendola, who missed both an extra point and field goal in the team’s 20-17 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Coach Andy Reid said Friday that he believed Butker would be a game-time decision vs. Tampa Bay. Butker had a limited practice Wednesday before missing drills Thursday and Friday.

Wright, 26, has spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars while making 25 of 28 career field-goal attempts.

Butker originally injured himself in the Chiefs’ opener against the Arizona Cardinals while slipping on the turf during a kickoff at State Farm Stadium.

The Chiefs also activated linebacker Elijah Lee, the Blue Springs High and Kansas State Wildcats product, from their practice squad as part of Saturday’s moves.
