Here’s what Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes said about his left wrist injury
The Chiefs won’t have major concerns at the quarterback position for Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Tuesday that quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a “full go” for the home opener after hurting his left wrist in Sunday’s win at Arizona.
Mahomes, who addressed the media after Reid, reinforced his head coach’s comments.
“It’s already felt a lot better, so I’m sure I’ll be good to go this week,” Mahomes said.
Mahomes suffered the injury early in Sunday’s game, but he didn’t lose any playing time in the Chiefs’ 44-21 win. In the game, Mahomes completed 30 of 39 passes for 360 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions to post a 144.2 passer rating.
The Chiefs quarterback said his wrist was sore on Monday, but he received treatment in the training room.
So far, so good.
“Just normal stuff, just kind of taking care of it, kind of keep some stuff on it,” Mahomes said. “But other than that, it feels great today. Hopefully, it keeps getting better like this and I’ll be good to go on Thursday.”
Barring a setback, Mahomes is on track to take a full workload against the Chargers.
