Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce gets pay raise for 2022: report

Travis Kelce is getting a raise this season.

The Chiefs tight end who has become a Pro Bowl regular will receive $3 million from the back end of his contract, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and NFL.com.

In 2020, Kelce signed a four-year contract extension worth $57.25 million. He had about $49 million in base salary left to be earned over the remaining four years of the deal. His overall pay for 2022 is expected to be $10.5 million.

According to Spotrac.com, Kelce is the fifth-highest-paid tight end entering the 2022 season. He is widely considered the NFL’s best at his position, and has been selected as a first-team All-Pro three times.

Kelce has topped 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past six seasons, including a tight end-record 1,416 yards in 2020. He ranks fifth in career postseason yards in NFL history, and only two players have caught more touchdowns than Kelce’s 12 in the playoffs.
