Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed’s vehicle shot up in Louisiana hometown

Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed became the victim of a random act of violence Friday afternoon while visiting his hometown of Minden, Louisiana.

Sneed’s vehicle was shot up by an unknown party, according to the Minden Police Department. Nobody was injured, Sneed was not in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and an investigation into the incident is underway, Minden Police said.

Sneed’s agent, Safarrah Lawson, released a statement on Friday to The Star’s Sam McDowell.

“A random and unnecessary act of violence occurred while Mr. Sneed was visiting his hometown,” the statement read. “No one was injury, but gunshots damaged his vehicle. He was briefly questioned and released without incident.”

No arrest had been made as of late afternoon on Friday. Sneed’s agent said there is a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the party responsible for the act.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to the Minden City Police Department’s Detective Division.

A team spokesperson told The Star that the Chiefs are aware of the situation and in the process of gathering information.

Sneed joined the Chiefs in 2020 as a fourth-round pick, quickly establishing himself as a starter. Over the past two seasons, he has appeared in 24 games with 21 starts, totaling 117 tackles, three sacks, five interceptions and 15 passes defensed.
