The NFL has keeping fans engaged throughout the offseason down to a science. Case in point: multiple announcements about release of the next regular-season schedule before the actual release occurs.

On Thursday afternoon, the league revealed that the 2022 regular-season schedule will officially be announced on the NFL Network, NFL.com and NFL app on May 12 at 7 p.m. Central Time.

Before the entire schedule is released, the NFL will unveil the participants for the season’s first Thursday Night Football game, which is set for Sept. 15. That will happen during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft on April 28.

The NFL will then announce the upcoming season’s full slate of international games — that occurs on May 4 — followed by a reveal of select matchups on May 9.

While the Chiefs might be selected to play in some of those games, fans hoping for a glimpse of their schedule for the 2022 season will need to remain patient for now.

What is known at this time is the Chiefs’ slate of opponents for the 2022 regular season.
