Jackson Mahomes says his Tik Tok dance on logo of late Washington star was accident
Sunday’s game at FedEx Field was a special one for the Washington Football Team as the franchise honored the late Sean Taylor in a number of ways.
The team retired Taylor’s No. 21 jersey, a road to the stadium was renamed after him and his family was part of an on-field ceremony, the Washington Post said.
Taylor, a safety, was shot and killed at his Florida home in 2007. He was 24.
Apparently, a logo of Taylor’s No. 21 was painted on the sideline, and it seems Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, recorded a Tik Tok video Sunday on that very spot.
Mahomes is a star on Tik Tok with nearly 1 million followers, but this video didn’t sit well with fans of the Washington Football Team.
Mahomes offered an apology after the incident went viral. He wrote in a Twitter message: “I want to sincerely apologize for accidentally being on the Sean Taylor #21 at FedEx Field. We were directed to stand in that area and I meant absolutely no disrespect to him or his family.”
While Jackson Mahomes caused a stir by dumping a bottle of water on a Ravens fan last month in Baltimore, this does appear to be a mistake.
This photo shows Mahomes and others close to Patrick Mahomes, were standing on that particular spot without anyone from FedEx Field security asking them to move.
