What the Vegas odds say about the Kansas City Chiefs-Buffalo Bills game Sunday
The Bills are arguably the hottest team in football, not only winners of three straight games, but recording an average margin of victory of 32 points.
They have the top-ranked defense in the NFL, no matter the metric you prefer, while the Chiefs rank among the league’s worst.
And yet, here we sit, in familiar territory Sunday night inside Arrowhead Stadium:
With the Chiefs as a betting favorite.
The Chiefs are favored by a field goal against the visiting Bills on Sunday Night Football, keeping alive a streak in which they’ve been favored every game this season.
The finally covered once, too. After cashing in a winning ticket in just one of their previous 11 regular season games, the Chiefs successfully covered a 7-point line in last week’s 42-30 victory against the Eagles.
Every team in the NFL has now covered the spread at least once. Only Dallas has covered all four weeks.
The Bills trail only one spot in those much-less-important standings, cruising to three consecutive victories, all of them by at least three scores. Their 22.5-point margin of victory this season far exceeds any other NFL team. They lead the NFL in yards allowed per play (4.0), a category in which the Chiefs are dead last (6.9) in the same category.
The over/under for Sunday night’s game is 56 1/2 points, four points higher than any other NFL game in Week 5.
