Chiefs’ Chris Jones (groin) limited again; Okafor returns to full practice: updates

The Chiefs had good, albeit cautiously so, news on Thursday’s injury report.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones (groin) was limited for a second straight day as the team continues preparations for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs’ last day of practice is Friday, so Jones’ status and availability for Week 4 action will be known on the team’s final injury report.

While Jones continues to participate in just stretching and individual drills, the Chiefs welcomed back a starter to full team drills.

Defensive end Alex Okafor, who hasn’t played since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1, put in a full practice Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Barring a setback, Okafor appears on track to return to game action.

The Chiefs listed wide receiver Tyreek Hill (heel), right tackle Mitchell Schwartz (ankle), center Austin Reiter (knee), guard Andrew Wylie (illness), cornerback Charvarius Ward (hand), safety Juan Thornhill (knee) and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (ankle) as full participants for the second straight day.

With rookie cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (shoulder) placed on injured reserve, the Chiefs elevated linebacker Darius Harris from the practice squad to their active 53-player roster.
