Chiefs’ Thornhill practices fully for second straight day; Kelce returns to full practice

So far, so good in terms of health for the Chiefs ahead of Thursday night’s season opener against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs went from appearing in good shape Monday to virtually all systems go Tuesday.

“Everybody practiced and they’re ready to roll,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.

Tight end Travis Kelce (knee) and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (ankle), both of whom were limited participants during Monday’s practice, returned to a full team drills.

Barring a setback between now and kickoff, Kelce and Nnadi are on track to play without limitations.

Additionally, the Chiefs don’t appear to have any lingering concerns over free safety Juan Thornhill (knee), who practiced fully for a second straight day. Thornhill is set to make his return to regular-season action since suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the 2019 season finale.

The rest of the Chiefs’ injury report looked the same from Monday: Running back Darrel Williams (hamstring), defensive end Alex Okafor (calf) and tight end Deon Yelder (groin) practice fully.

That’s six healthy players to contribute with the rest of the active roster when the Chiefs take the field to begin to defend their Super Bowl championship.
