Discuss, debate and battle about Super Bowl-champion Chiefs on new free app SportsMe
Want to talk about the Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs? Support their quest for a second straight championship? Extoll the greatness of all-everything KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes?
And do you want to talk about these sorts of things, like, literally all the time, every second, no matter the hour of day or night?
We feel you. And we’ve got a proposal for you.
Check out our new partnership with social-media platform SportsMe. Download is free for iOS Apple and Google Android devices in their respective app stores.
Set up your profile on the free app and record your take. Up to 30 seconds of video, on your Chiefs or Kansas City sports topic of choice. Make it hot, keep it mild ... your call. Uploading is easy, fast and connects you to a vast network of like-minded fans in a snap.
It’s sort of like Around The Horn meets Twitter meets TikTok ... but uniquely all its own. And starting Monday, Sept. 7 — with the Chiefs’ season opener vs. the Houston Texans set for prime-time Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium — it’ll be your go-to spot for connecting with The Star’s “A-Team” of reporters and columnists, like Herbie Teope and Sam Mellinger.
A host of other users you’ll recognize will be there, too. We think this thing is gonna be fun, and we expect it to be your thing — your place to connect, debate, battle over and simply talk all things sports, especially as they pertain to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Your resident sports editor even has a take or two (“Travis Kelce is going to post his NFL-record fifth-straight 1,000-yard season”), but don’t let that dissuade you from hopping on and offering your own take, or critiquing ours. That’s what this thing is all about. It’s way cooler than me, and I’m probably not doing it justice here.
Oh, one more thing. We’re running a daily contest for the next eight weeks. It starts Tuesday, Sept. 8. We’ll select our favorite post each day, and its creator will win a free copy of our KC Star Super Bowl page from Feb. 3, 2020, the day after the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years. You can see the complete contest rules here.
And each week, the top poster for that week will win a copy of our special Super Bowl coffee table book — “HAIL TO THE CHIEFS” — valued at $39.95, and priceless to true Chiefs fans. Other prizes are in the works, too.
See you soon ... on SportsMe.
