Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes raises a pretty penny for charities helping during pandemic

One fan has secured a unique game day experience with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

For $140,000.

Last month, Mahomes joined the “All In Challenge,” to benefit nonprofit organizations during the coronavirus pandemic, offering up a slew of gifts in the package.

The winning bid: $140,000.

The winner and a guest will receive front-row tickets to a Chiefs game, along with sideline passes and locker room club passes. After the game, they will meet Mahomes, who will hand over his game-worn jersey and cleats from that day. Before kickoff, the winner will lead the chop, a tradition that includes banging a large drum.

“I’m going all in to support the amazing organizations that help everyone that’s been affected by this coronavirus,” Mahomes said. “I’m offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — the ultimate game day experience.”

The All In Challenge, created by Fanatics, supports Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry, America’s Food Fund, Feeding America and World Central Kitchen. Several celebrities have offered up their own personal experiences. All of the proceeds raised through the auctions will support the charities. to date, the challenge has raised more than $45 million.

Chiefs right tackle Mitchell Schwartz has joined the cause. The winner receives first-class airline tickets to Kansas City to see the Chiefs, along with a trip onto the field after the game. Schwartz, known for his cooking blog, will also invite the fan into his home and cook him dinner. The auction ends Friday. As of Thursday morning, the leading bid stood at $32,000.
