Chiefs agree to terms with 18 undrafted free-agent rookies, including one from Mizzou

The Chiefs on Sunday announced they’ve agreed to contract terms with a slew of undrafted free agents.

A few of those players were on the Chiefs’ radar on the final day of the 2020 NFL Draft, leaving general manager Brett Veach thrilled that the team brought them aboard.

“I think our guys really hit a home run after the draft,” Veach said Sunday during a Zoom call. “Some of these guys that we were able to land in free agency were guys that we were considering in the fifth round there. So a lot of these guys that were on the board for that final pick, we were able to stay aggressive and sign after the draft.”

In total, the Chiefs agreed to terms with 18 players, which would put them over the NFL’s 90-player maximum allowed during the offseason once all six draft picks officially sign contracts to become members of the team.

The Chiefs entered the draft with 70 players and added six through the selection process, so corresponding roster moves will need to happen eventually.
