The NFL Draft will happen next week from home offices and basements throughout the league. This shut-in setting was created by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has taken the event from glitzy Las Vegas to the sanctity of social distancing. But the show goes on. It will be one of the few live sporting events to occur in the past or current month.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach spoke to the challenges of this unique setting and the Chiefs’ objectives in the draft and took questions about the contracts of defensive tackle Chris Jones, who will play on the franchise tag this year, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
