Chiefs list running back LeSean McCoy as inactive vs. 49ers in Super Bowl LIV

The Kansas City Chiefs will play the Super Bowl without running back LeSean McCoy.

McCoy is inactive for Sunday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, marking a second consecutive postseason game he will not suit up.

McCoy, whose playing time diminished over the final month of the regular season, played just one snap in the Chiefs’ AFC Divisional Game before not playing in the AFC Championship Game while battling an illness. The Chiefs signed McCoy in early September after the Buffalo Bills parted ways with him.

With McCoy out, the Chiefs will have running backs Damien Williams and rookie Darwin Thompson in the backfield.

The Chiefs other inactives are quarterback Chad Henne, cornerback Morris Claiborne, offensive lineman Jackson Barton, offensive lineman Andrew Wylie, offensive lineman Ryan Hunter and linebacker Darron Lee.

Stefen Wisniewski will draw a fifth straight start at left guard in place of Wylie.
