Chiefs add tight end Travis Kelce to injury report because of knee ailment

The Chiefs have expected to have a healthy group when they open their postseason Sunday against the Texans.

But a surprise name popped up on the injury report Wednesday.

Tight end Travis Kelce was a limited participant in practice because of a knee injury. The Chiefs won’t add an injury designation to his status until after Friday’s practice.

The Chiefs play host the Houston Texans in the AFC divisional round at 2:05 p.m. Sunday in Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce had 97 catches for 1,225 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season.

Cornerback Morris Claiborne was the only player to miss practice, though his absence was not injury related. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Claiborne had been excused for personal reasons.

Guard Andrew Wylie (ankle), center Austin Reiter (wrist) and defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon (neck) practiced in full.
