Upon further review, Chiefs-Bears game will remain on ‘Sunday Night Football’

In the end, this was much ado about nothing.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday that the Chiefs’ Week 16 game at Chicago was a candidate to be flexed out of “Sunday Night Football” if the Bears were eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday. In its place, the Titans-Saints game would be shown.

The Bears were knocked out of postseason contention when they lost to the Packers and the Vikings crushed the Chargers. But the Titans lost at home to the Texans and their playoff chances took a hit.

That Tennessee loss may have been the deciding factor as the Chiefs-Bears game will remain on “Sunday Night Football.” Kickoff will be at 7:20 p.m. from Soldier Field.
