Chiefs’ Frank Clark is active against Broncos, but Damien Williams won’t play Sunday
The Kansas City Chiefs will have one of their top pass rushers available for Week 15 action.
Defensive end Frank Clark (shoulder injury, and illness) is active for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.
Clark, who has seen a specialist for his stomach ailment, returned to practice on a limited basis Friday and entered the weekend deemed questionable to play.
How much Clark plays Sunday remains to be seen. He battled the illness late in the week leading up to Week 14’s game against the New England, and played just 31 of the team’s 66 defensive snaps that day.
While the Chiefs have Clark ready to go, their backfield is without running back Damien Williams, who was officially declared inactive Sunday. Williams returned to limited practice Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday’s practice with an illness.
He will now miss a third consecutive game since suffering a rib injury in Week 11.
The Chiefs are likely to split touches between LeSean McCoy, Spencer Ware and rookie Darwin Thompson in a game set to be played in adverse winter conditions — snow was coming down steadily in KC as kickoff approached.
In addition to Williams, the Chiefs listed cornerback Morris Claiborne (shoulder), cornerback Rashad Fenton (hamstring), quarterback Chad Henne, offensive lineman Jackson Barton, offensive lineman Nick Allegreti and tight end Deon Yelder as inactive vs. Denver.
