Chiefs

Look for Chiefs’ Chris Jones to do what he does well Sunday: pressure the quarterback

Keep and eye on these Broncos and Chiefs when the teams battle Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium:

Broncos safety Kareem Jackson

Jackson is coming off an AFC Defensive Player of the Week game. Against the Texans last weekend, he became the third player in NFL history to record at least 10 tackles (he had 11), an interception and a fumble return for a touchdown. The return went for 70 yards. It was a huge game for 10th-year pro who spent his first nine seasons in Houston, where he played cornerback.

Broncos tight end Noah Fant

The rookie from Iowa missed practice time earlier in the week but is expected to play. He was terrific in last week’s victory at Houston, with four receptions for 113 yards and his third NFL touchdown. He’s having an excellent season, with 35 receptions for 492 yards. The Chiefs did a good job defending Fant the first time around, holding him to one catch, but he figures to be among Drew Lock’s favorite targets Sunday.

Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones

This time a year ago, Jones was in the midst of his NFL-record streak of sacks in 11 consecutive games. He finished the season with 15 1/2. He won’t top his record this season and is behind last year’s pace for total sacks, but Jones is building a solid year. He’s picked up at least one sack in four of his last five games and has a team-high seven this season. Against the Broncos, the Chiefs’ defensive front has the dual purpose of keep running back Phillip Lindsay (817 yards) from wrecking the game and getting pressure on Lock, who has completed 73 percent of his passes in two starts.

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill

The Chiefs’ big-play receiver hasn’t had a reception that covered more than 21 yards in his last two games. And Hill hasn’t been in the end zone since the Chiefs’ Week 10 loss at Tennessee. He’s had some big games against the Broncos, so maybe it’s time for a break-out game from the two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler.
