Chiefs flagship radio station and broadcast partner moving on the dial in 2020

Starting next season, the Chiefs are moving on the radio dial.

The organization announced a multi-year agreement Thursday with Entercom that will make 106.5 The Wolf (WDAF-FM) the new flagship station of the 70-station Chiefs Radio Network.

Also, 610 Sports Radio (KCSP) will become the Chiefs’ official broadcast partner, with exclusive rights to in-season news conferences with the head coach (Andy Reid) and quarterback (Patrick Mahomes). KCSP will broadcast the Chiefs Kingdom Radio Show on Monday nights.

Chiefs games have been on 101.1 The Fox (KCFX-FM) since 1990. Sports Radio 810 serves as the broadcast partner through the end of this season.

The team also announced that play-by-play announcer Mitch Holthus would return in 2020 for his 27th season.

“We look forward to partnering with 106.5 The Wolf and the powerful Entercom family of stations,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan said in a statement. “The ability to bring our game broadcasts and existing weekly radio shows under one roof is a large part of this change, but we are equally excited about creating new content and developing new opportunities for Chiefs fans to engage with their favorite team.”
