Chiefs’ Fuller, Okafor return to action vs. Oakland; Damien Williams out as expected
The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have any surprise inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.
The Chiefs listed running back Damien Williams (rib), quarterback Chad Henne, offensive lineman Nick Allegretti, offensive lineman Jackson Barton, defensive end Demone Harris, tight end Deon Yelder and safety Jordan Lucas as not suiting up.
Williams’ listing is a formality, considering the Chiefs designated him as out on Friday’s injury report. Williams suffered a rib injury in Week 11 and did not practice this past week.
With Williams out, the Chiefs will lean on running backs LeSean McCoy, Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson out of the backfield.
Yelder’s absence signals the Chiefs will rely on just two tight ends: Travis Kelce and Blake Bell, who did not play in Week 11.
Meanwhile, cornerback Kendall Fuller (thumb) and defensive end Alex Okafor (ankle) make their return to action Sunday after previously missing time.
Fuller’s five-game absence was a result of thumb surgery during Week 7, while Okafor missed three games after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 8.
