Chiefs’ Damien Williams ruled out against Raiders; Kendall Fuller, Alex Okafor return
The Kansas City Chiefs are officially without a key member of the backfield for Sunday’s matchup against the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.
Running back Damien Williams, who suffered a rib injury in Week 11, missed a third straight day of practice Friday and has been ruled out for Week 13.
Without Williams, the Chiefs will lean on running backs LeSean McCoy, Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson against the Raiders.
While the absence of Williams provides bad news, the Chiefs come off the bye week relatively healthy.
Williams is the lone player to have an injury designation, signaling that the rest of the roster is available for action Sunday.
Wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who missed Thursday’s practice with an illness, returned to full practice Friday.
The Chiefs are also getting back two key players on defense: cornerback Kendall Fuller (thumb) and defensive end Alex Okafor (ankle).
Fuller hasn’t played since undergoing surgery on his thumb in Week 7, while Okafor has missed three straight games since suffering the ankle injury in Week 8.
