Chiefs get two key defensive players back for Cardinals; Watkins inactive

Safety Daniel Sorensen is set to make his season debut against the Cardinals.

Activated from the injured reserve list on Monday, Sorensen is active for Sunday’s game. He suffered a tibial plateau fracture during training camp.

Sorensen isn’t the only defensive player to return to the field this week. Linebacker Justin Houston, who’s missed four games with a hamstring injury, is also active.

While the Chiefs’ defense is bolstered by the return of two key defensive players, the offense will be down a key player with wide receiver Sammy Watkins being inactive. Watkins injured his foot against the Browns last week. He missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but returned to practice on a limited basis Friday.
