Patrick Mahomes just surpassed his season TD projection in Vegas. In eight weeks.
A bet on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes thriving in his first season as a starter is a winning ticket.
Already.
There are no shortage of ways to quantify Mahomes’ breakthrough in the NFL, but here’s a good one to add to the list.
Mahomes threw two first-half touchdown passes in Sunday’s first half against Denver — the second one a 13-yard strike to Sammy Watkins over the middle of the field — which gave him 24 for the season.
And that’s more than the oddsmakers in Las Vegas projected him to throw for the entire year. His over/under for touchdowns in 2018 was just 23 1/2.
After two more touchdowns in the third quarter, Mahomes is on pace to throw for more than 50 this year.
