Jeff Allen, Tanoh Kpassagnon active for Chiefs-Bengals at Arrowhead Sunday night
Just a few days after rejoining his former team, Chiefs offensive lineman Jeff Allen is active for Sunday night’s game with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Allen, who hasn’t played since starting 12 games for the Texans a year ago, won’t start. But his availability is key with injuries to center Mitch Morse and right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. Jordan Devey is expected to start at center with Andrew Wylie filling in for Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.
Linebacker Nate Orchard, who’s been on the team for a week and a half, is inactive along with linebacker Justin Houston and safety Eric Berry. But the Chiefs will have linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon, who was inactive in New England with an ankle injury.
For the Bengals, safety Shawn Williams will be active Sunday night. Williams was in the NFL’s concussion protocol earlier this week, but he was on the field warming up before the game. The Bengals will be without defensive back Darqueze Dennard and starting linebacker Nick Vigil (knee).
The Bengals will also be missing running back Giovani Bernard, leaving the bulk of the carries to Joe Mixon. Wide receiver Josh Malone is also inactive for the first time this season. But wide receiver John Ross, who missed the last two weeks with a groin injury, is active.
