Chiefs-Patriots prediction: Does Kansas City remain unbeaten?

The Kansas City Chiefs visit the New England Patriots on the first of consecutive Sunday Night Football appearances. The Chiefs are the AFC’s lone undefeated team at 5-0 and look to win in Foxborough for the second straight season.

Kickoff: 7:20 p.m., Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass.

TV/Radio: NBC (Ch. 41)/KCFX (101.5 FM)

Line: Patriots by 3.5

Blair Kerkhoff’s prediction: Patriots 38-33

Tom Brady will play in his 259th NFL game and Patrick Mahomes his seventh. That’s the matchup receiving all the buzz for this prime-time game. Beyond quarterback play, what are the keys? Patriots running back Sony Michel is off to a solid start and look to have a big day against what’s been a poor rushing defense. But the Pats haven’t been much better defending the run, and Kareem Hunt came up huge in hi pro debut in this stadium last year. Look for plenty of offense from both sides, especially with injured Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston likely missing the game. This won’t be a game to settle for field goals, so red zone success becomes critical. Give a slight edge to the home team.
