Chiefs receiver Da’Rick Rogers reportedly reaches plea agreement in DUI case
Chiefs receiver Da’Rick Rogers reached a plea agreement in which he will serve one day in jail and six months of probation for driving under the influence, WISH-TV in Indianapolis reported Monday.
Rogers, 23, was released by the Colts in September, shortly after he was charged. He sat out the rest of the 2014 season but was signed by the Chiefs to a reserve-futures contract on January.
Rogers is a former five-star prep prospect who caught 67 passes for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns in 2011 as a sophomore at Tennessee. But he was indefinitely suspended before the season because of a team rules violation.
Rogers transferred to Tennessee Tech, where he caught 61 passes for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2012 before declaring for the 2013 NFL Draft. He went undrafted but caught 14 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie with the Colts.
