Without so much as a practice with the team, Mike McGlynn started at left guard in the Chiefs’ preseason finale at Green Bay, and seems to have established his presence in the lineup.

McGlynn, familiar with the offense from his time at Philadelphia under Andy Reid during 2008 to 2010, participated in 17 snaps against the Packers, and the Chiefs are counting on him in their reshuffled offensive line.

“Mike’s got a lot of experience in this league,” Reid said of McGlynn, who started the past two seasons at Indianapolis and was released by Washington last week.

“He can play both guard and center for you, which ups his value there. He got in a little work at Green Bay and did a nice job.”
