Chiefs haven’t decided if Jamaal Charles will play in last preseason game
Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles has missed the last two preseason games because of a bruised foot sustained while moving out of the dorms in St. Joseph two weeks ago.
Charles had three carries in the preseason opener against Cincinnati, and offensive coordinator Doug Pederson said the staff hasn’t determined whether Charles will play on Thursday.
Charles was in full pads last Saturday night, even though there were no plans to play him.
“He’s part of the football team,” Pederson said. “You want to be part of the football team, and he wanted to be out there on the field and be with his guys.
Injury update
Safety Eric Berry returned to practice after missing most of the last three weeks with a heel injury. Wide receivers Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) and Junior Hemingway (hip) did not practice, nor did defensive end Mike Catapano (illness) and tackle Eric Fisher (illness).
