The Chiefs have tendered wide receiver Junior Hemingway, an exclusive rights free agent, to a one-year deal for the league minimum, a league source told The Star on Friday.

Hemingway, 26, is a fourth-year pro who caught 12 passes for 108 yards in 14 games as a backup last season.

A seventh-round pick in 2012, Hemingway is a solid special-teams player who showed flashes as a receiver in 2013, when he caught 13 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. He earned more playing time as a receiver last season, but dealt with a concussion, hip and hamstring injuries.
