For all his dynamic speed, at 5 feet 9 and 174 pounds, Chiefs running back De’Anthony Thomas obviously isn’t very big, which could presumably cause problems when it comes to blocking.

But according to running back coach Eric Bieniemy, Thomas has shown the willingness to do it.

“One thing about De’Anthony, if you know anything about him, he’s very tough,” Bieniemy said.

Bieniemy added that Thomas, who didn’t do much blocking in college, is making strides in that area.

“Obviously, we haven’t put him in many situations as far as blocking,” Bieniemy said. “But you ought to see him on that one man sled. He’ll bite you now — he will bite you.”
