Oklahoma and Southwest Airlines announced on Thursday that a special commercial flyover will take place before Saturday’s game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in Norman, Okla., to honor former Sooners punter Mike Winchester.

Winchester, the father of Chiefs’ long snapper James Winchester, was fatally shot on Nov. 15 outside Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport, where he worked for Southwest. Mike Winchester, like his son, played for the Sooners.

The flyover by a Southwest Boeing 737 passenger jet will take place before the 11:30 a.m. kickoff.
