Chiefs injury updates: Spencer Ware, Jeremy Maclin
The Chiefs were without rushing leader Spencer Ware for all of their 19-14 victory over the Jaguars on Sunday, and played most of the game without top wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
The Monday update brought uncertainty about their status for this weekend’s game at Carolina with Reid sounding a bit more optimistic about Ware, who sat out with a concussion suffered in the previous game.
Asked if it was conceivable that Ware could be ready for the Panthers, Reid said, “There’s a good chance he is. He has to pass all the protocol.”
As for Maclin, a groin injury limited his practice time last week and he was in on two snaps Sunday before leaving the game. Reid was asked if Maclin’s injury could keep him out longer.
“It could,” Reid said. “It easily could. But it’s day-to-day. We’ll have to wait and see how he’s doing.”
