KCTV-5 cites transmitter issues as reason for dropped Chiefs feed
Many Chiefs fans in Kansas City had some anxious moments in the third quarter that had nothing to do with the actual game.
Around 4:47 p.m., KCTV-5’s feed of the broadcast went blank for some subscribers. The outage, which lasted about 13 minutes, was because of transmitter issues, according to the KCTV-5 Twitter account.
The Star contacted KCTV-5, with a spokesperson deferring all comment to general manager Mike Cukyne.
As of early Sunday evening, attempts to reach Cukyne via phone and email were unsuccessful.
On Twitter, KCTV-5 apologized for the inconvenience shortly after the signal returned late in the third quarter.
