Jamaal Charles ‘questionable,’ Charcandrick West, Jah Reid out for Chiefs at Steelers
Chiefs running back Charcandrick West and guard Jah Reid have been ruled out of Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh because of injuries.
Running back Jamaal Charles, meanwhile, who hasn’t played since tearing his ACL last season against Denver, was upgraded to questionable this week.
Also listed as questionable on the Chiefs’ injury report are outside linebacker Tamba Hali and cornerback Phillip Gaines.
“They’re day-to-day,” Andy Reid said. “We’ll see how all that sorts out as we go.”
Charles was listed as doubtful on last week’s injury report vs. the Jets. A designation of questionable means there’s a greater-than-50 percent chance Charles sees action Sunday night against the Steelers. Doubtful means a player has a less-than-50 percent chance of playing.
“He’s done a little bit of team (drills), a little bit of scout team, so he’s kind of mixed it in and out,” Reid said. “It looks like he’s getting better all the time.”
West has been dealing with an ankle injury and Reid is nursing injuries to his knee and ankle.
▪ The Steelers listed seven players out for Sunday, including several starters.
Linebacker Ryan Shazier, slot receiver Eli Rogers, safety Robert Golden and left guard Ramon Foster won’t play.
Foster is expected to be replaced by B.J. Finney, the former Kansas State lineman. Finney hurt his finger practice this week but said he was fine to make his first career start.
Also listed as out are running back Roosevelt Nix, center Cody Wallace and cornerback Senquez Golson.
